It’s been a long and hard road for Club officials since the Club’s removal from the TJRL prior to the 2013 season.
According to a TJRL statement, the Lions have demonstrated that they have the required governance and finance structures in place, as well as sufficient player numbers in the Under 6 to Under 12 age groups.
The League is also satisfied that the Club has secured appropriate infrastructure to accommodate the hosting of sanctioned games.
The Lions will play out of the Jack Martin Memorial Complex in Drayton which has undergone significant upgrades in the past 18 months.
Newtown’s inclusion takes the number of teams in the TJRL’s mini/mod competitions to nine.
